Here at Jana Photography, we have a lot of variety in our props for newborn and babies for the photoshoot. However, we always get excited to see that parents bring their own and personal props to use in their photo session.

This amazing couple brought so many cute outfits and props for their little boy. They had the cutest Canucks Hockey Jersey for their little boy. We got so excited and creative to come up with different ideas on how to incorporate Canucks Hockey Jersey into our photo scene.

Also, we decided to put him on belly pose and since he also had crochet hat and hockey shoes. Jafar put the Canucks Jersey under his hand. We could also capture the Canucks logo.

More props for our rockstar baby boy

Besides the Canucks’ hockey props, they also brought some other outfits and props such as crochet mickey mouse outfit. This lovely couple really liked Mickey mouse, and they also had Micky headband for themselves; the result was absolutely adorable.

At Jana Photography, clients can choose their favorite outfit from our wide range of props. However, this couple brought a set of a hat and wrap. Because they had this idea to use the same hat and wrap for their second baby in the future. We admired their passion and love during the session, and their positive energy encouraged us to come up with new ideas.

They also brought a cute Burberry Scarf that according to the Mommy, this scarf was his baby’s first gift and it was very important for them to capture a photo with it. We wrapped our little baby boy with his blue and navy Burberry scarf, which also reminded us of the Canucks theme color.

Last but not least, this little baby boy had two adorable Christmas chipmunk stuffies from Disney, and we created an adorable Christmas shot of this little boy and his chipmunks.

As family and newborn baby photographers we love working with children of all ages, and if you ask us what our favorite newborn baby photo sessions is, our answer would be “Newborn photo session with siblings”. It is always lovely to help create and capture an image that perfectly captures the siblings love for one another, and see the reaction of the mom and dad. By investing in a photography session you can show everyone just how much your siblings love each other.

We just LOVE this family and could not be more excited about photographing India and her new baby brother, Heath.

This was one of the baby and family photography sessions in Kitsilano, Vancouver. Big sister was all smiles, from the time she opened the door at 7:30 in the morning till we left their house after 4 hours. Such a great helper and sweet girl to spend time and hang out with.

The brother and sister were such cuties and even though we didn’t get the perfect posed picture of them together, we did get a lot of absolutely precious pictures of the two of them together and individually!

Let’s start: How we approach newborn photography session with sibling. Please note that it is absolutely normal that siblings may not be keen on following directions and listening to what you and we are asking them. Sibling sessions are always a lot of work, but they’re also super fun and always involve a lot of laughter.

As Nasim’s background in is teaching in preschools and child care, she is professional in her approach and working with the children from 2 to 6 years old. She understands that you cannot force children to follow directions as they will remove themselves for the whole session. Nasim can properly convey to them what they need to do and tell them how exiting and lovely it will be, and their reactions to the photo’s are always amazing when we review them on the screen.

After sibling shots we take some individual pictures of the bigger brother or sister while they are playing with their favorite toys. The next step is some family shots together.

Once the photos are done, we do the solo newborn portraits. This is the time that the rest of the family can relax and enjoy watching their newborn baby photos being captured.

Newborn Photography

As your newborn photographer, a newborn photography session will be the first milestone in your baby’s extraordinary life! We want to help tell the story of your family, and capture the new-found love you have for your little one. Pictures last forever and become a priceless investment, capturing the unique moments that never be repeated again.

It is the best to bring in a newborn photographer within two weeks after your newborns birth, when they are between 5-12 days new. At this time, the baby is still used to being in the womb, allowing us to position them into those sweet and curly poses. After the two-week mark, they become more alert, lighter sleepers, and baby acne starts to set in.

This is not to say that we cannot photograph your little one after two weeks. Beautiful newborn photography images can be captured at any stage. However, you should know that once past this “new” stage, we may not be able to get curly poses.

If they come to the session on time there would be more opportunity to work on specific positions. Mostly we give the right information and all the details to the moms who come to us for their maternity sessions.

There are a couple of details which is necessary to be mentioned regarding to you and your baby situation. We will contact you at least 2 or 3 days in advance to talk about those specific details.

We just want to encourage you to be as relax and confident as possible. Any stress or rush would straightly affect your session as all the babies are even more sensitive and clever as adults. Take it easy as we are going to work with all of our passion as well as patience. We would have so much fun during our wonderful newborn session

It is important to book your JaNa newborn photography session in advance.  We are available to take only three bookings per week. So please book early to avoid disappointment due to the unpredictable nature of the miracle of birth, we will reserve your date-of-delivery in our calendar at time of booking, and adjust accordingly once you had your baby. It is very important to contact us as soon as possible after birth, so that we can schedule your newborn portrait session promptly.

Welcome! We would like to introduce ourselves, Nasim Yousefi and Jafar Edrisi and we are the photographers behind JaNa Photography. Along with doing maternity, baby & newborn photography we are also world travelers and story tellers. We spent 2 years traveling around the world to help promote Peace and Environmental conservation.

We discovered the beauty of people as we cycled through 15 countries, which consisted of: Asia, Europe and North America. We loved to travel through these countries to see the real people and capture their story through the lens of our camera.

Previously we had spent 8 years doing computer programming and producing multimedia software for kids. This helped us to open our hearts and to open our eyes to a different perspective to life. After all of these experiences we took our interest in capturing and retelling stories and became professionals in photography. Our love and passion of photography blossomed through capturing the cherished moments of our clients newborns and babies.

Here’s some more information on our cycling trip around the world. We traveled by bike for 2 years helping to promote the message and conversation of Peace and Environmental conservation.
